Past Community Events

August 2023 – Caldwell YMCA Golden Games

The team in Caldwell recently spent two days volunteering for and sponsoring the Golden Games, held at the local YMCA. There were many great events including a 5K walk/run, ping pong, pickleball, and the most competitive and exciting event – deadlifting!

We had a chance to connect with the community and hear a lot of amazing and uplifting stories. One of the winners of the deadlift competition was almost 80 and lifted 300 pounds! He was recovering from such a bad case of diabetes that he could barely walk this time last year, and he worked hard to get this win. He went to the YMCA daily for training, social interaction, and most of all to have fun. Other amazing seniors hit huge personal records at the Golden Games, helped along by the training they did at the YMCA.

The YMCA has also created a safe space for the younger crowd with after school programs and tools to help any age in their healthy living journey. We were blown away by the facilities and support that the members at the YMCA give each other. It was inspiring watching them live their best healthy lives.

The Y’s core values are caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. We saw them all in the two days we were there and were honored to be a part of it.

June 2023 – Mainspring Cares 2023

June 9, 2023, marked another successful day of Mainspring Cares, the all-firm volunteer program at Mainspring Wealth Advisors. Each year we come together as a group and dedicate our time to helping our local communities. This year we were fortunate to help serve various organizations in our community.

Our Bellevue team spent the day at Eastside Baby Corner which is now known as KidVantage Issaquah. They spent the day working in their warehouse to fold clothes, and sort supplies (diapers, clothes, toys, and other essentials). They also put together essential newborn kits for expecting new mothers.

The team in Tukwila spent the day at the Tukwila Pantry Food Bank. The Tukwila Pantry Food Bank provides produce, dry goods & basic items to local families in need. Our team helped with packing food, prepping, organizing the freezer, and relocating heavy items as needed.

The Magnolia office volunteered at Northwest Harvest’s SODO Community Market. SODO Community Market is a no-cost grocery store that provides fresh produce and grocery staples to those in need. They worked together and sorted food donations. They also handed out grocery items, fresh fruits and vegetables, water, and other necessities that individuals requested.

Our Bend team volunteered at the KIDS Center. KIDS Center is a nonprofit that provides life-changing services to help kids and families overcome the devastating effects of child abuse. The team spent the day helping the KIDS Center prepare for their fundraiser in July.

These organizations are vital to our community and we are proud to be part of their volunteer programs and show our support.

We would like to thank each organization that allowed us to spend time with them. We look forward to the positive impacts we can make together in the future.

March 2023 – Kindering 29th Annual Auction Gala

On March 9th, employees of Mainspring took a pause from their busy schedules to help support Kindering, a local charity dear to our hearts. Kindering embraces children with diverse abilities and their families, offering much-needed education & therapy.

Each year, members of Mainspring help with the final touches for Kindering’s annual auction. This year’s theme, ‘Lights! Cameras! Auction!’ saw us assembling packets & programs, packing items for the event, and helping finish movie-themed centerpieces for dinner. Whatever the staff needed, we were there to jump in.

We're truly grateful for the opportunity to support Kindering's annual auction endeavors. This year's event raised a remarkable $700k+ for their invaluable educational and therapy programs.

June 2022 – Mainspring Cares Day

June 3rd marked another successful day of Mainspring Cares, the all-firm volunteer program at Mainspring. Choosing a day each year to come together as a group and dedicate our time and heart is indicative of the culture at Mainspring and this year, we were fortunate to help serve three organizations in our community.

These organizations are vital to our community, and we are proud to be part of their volunteer programs and show our support.

We would like to thank each organization that allowed us to spend time with them. We look forward to the positive impacts we can make together in the future.

September 2021 - A group of Mainspringers and their families celebrated National Public Lands Day by bettering Lake Sammamish State Park in conjunction with a local cleanup event. Teams were divided into various activities including weeding, trash pickup and trail improvements for the more adventurous.

December 2019 – Five members of Mainspring Wealth Advisors staff volunteered at the Eli Creekmore branch of Childhaven, one of our favorite local organizations.

This year’s need was for patching and painting one of the classrooms. Everyone donned their painting attire and – regardless of skill level – chipped in to complete the job in a few hours.

In addition, Mainspring’s Tukwila branch participated in the Childhaven Holiday Giving Drive. We collected five $25 gift cards to local stores as well as more than 450 diapers and pull ups, and 1,148 baby wipes to be donated to needy Childhaven families.

We are always gratified to be able to contribute in the communities that we serve.

September 2019 – On Saturday, September 21st, 2019, our Mainspring team got out for a ride in the 28th Annual Bike the Bluff event in Magnolia benefiting the Catherine Blaine elementary school’s 5th-grade class. All proceeds from the event went toward their annual trip to Islandwood, an environmental science camp.

September 2019 – United Way Day of Caring

Once again, Mainspring joined forces with the United Way to participate in the 2019 Day of Caring campaign. The Day of Caring is an event that Mainspring participates in every year to team build and give back to the community. Twenty-six Mainspring employees and partners rolled up their sleeves to help at the Queen Anne Food Bank and Kindering Center. Each volunteer group took on unique jobs specifically geared toward each of the not-for-profits. The volunteers at Mainspring helped organize and clean the banquet/dining facility at The Sacred Heart of Jesus, where the Queen Anne Food Bank is housed, and unloaded and organized fresh vegetables and fruits, canned goods, and served breakfast and lunch to those in need. The group at Kindering made educational kits for students. After the kits were made, they took to the playground to spruce up the toys and clean the playground equipment. Mainspring ended the day by contributing 118 hours of volunteer time.

Please look out for the next Mainspring volunteer opportunity. We are always looking for ways to help our community and give back.

July 2019 – Annual Charity Invitational Golf Tournament

On July 22nd, Mainspring had its annual Charity Invitational Golf Tournament. Over 70 golfers participated in a “Scramble” style format to benefit Eastside Pathways. This group raised over $11,000 while enjoying the beautiful views from the Snoqualmie Ridge Golf Club. Josh Hunnex, Brett Hart, Greg Ryan and Jeff Johnson were our tournament winners, with Ed Bradley, Nate Rothbauer, Dan Sullivan and Brian Mattocks taking Second Place. The “Closest to the Pin” trophy was awarded to Brett Hart, with Josh Hunnex and Amanda Foley and Jennifer taking the men’s and women’s “Longest Drive” awards, respectively.

Eastside Pathways is a community-wide partnership of more than 60 public, private, and non-profit organizations on the Eastside that works collectively to attain better outcomes for children, from cradle to career. Mainspring has long supported their efforts and we would like to thank all our sponsors, donors and staff for making this event possible.
