December 17, 2018 – Staff from Mainspring Wealth Advisors volunteered at the Eli Creekmore branch of Childhaven, one of our favorite local organizations.

The time was spent sorting toys, clothing and gifts of all sorts that had been generously donated to the organization. Each staff member was given a wish list for a child, and they had to “shop” from the donations to create gift bags containing items from the child’s wish list. Most staff worked on 4 to 5 wish lists.

Others helped check the values on gift cards that had been donated.

It was a very rewarding experience not only to work for such a great organization but to know you had a small part in bringing a smile to a child’s face for the holidays.

September 14, 2018 – United Way Day of Caring

On Friday, September 14th, team members from Mainspring took part in the United Way of King County Day of Caring. This year we spent the day helping From Roots to Wings, an early childhood development learning center serving children 12 months to 12 years old in Burien. It was time spent having fun as a team and giving back to an amazing local organization.

August 9, 2018 – Annual Charity Invitational Golf tournament

On August 9th, Mainspring had its annual Charity Invitational Golf tournament. Over 60 golfers participated in a “Scramble” style format to benefit Eastside Pathways. This group raised over $15,000 while enjoying the beautiful views from Newcastle Golf Club. Chris Davies, Ryan Reese, Alex Schiner and Phil Treat were our tournament winners, shooting an impressive 58! Our own Jeremy Taylor took home the “Closest to the Pin” award and Rosanne Fairweather won the “Longest Drive.”

September 15 – For United Way Day of Caring, Mainspring volunteered at Acres of Diamonds in Duvall.

Acres is part of a larger response to the growing problem of women and children living in poverty in Western Washington. About half of the 20,000 homeless in Washington every night are families with children, with no safe place to lay their head, and little hope of breaking free from the entanglements that got them there. It is against these tremendous odds that Acres offers hope to women and children who find the courage to try to change their destiny. They serve families who are predominantly victims of domestic violence or substance abuse, and lifelong poverty.

At this year’s Day of Caring, we helped Acres of Diamonds with cleaning of the campus (painting, organizing, and yard work) and additional duties, weather permitting.

June 2 – Just another fun-filled day, working with one of our favorite organizations, Kindering. Associate Advisor Anna Shea, Director of Operations Tia Sanidad and Relationship Manager Shanel Konzelman volunteered at the Parent Child Home Program (PCHP) graduation and learning about this program that teaches families in need about the importance of early education. PCHP is an extensive school readiness program for children ages 2 to 4 and their parents. We learned that trained home visitors demonstrate important parenting skills, positive verbal interaction, and play in order to enhance their child’s development.
